I wanted to write a series of articles about ethics and moral values, dwelling on why they exist, what is their use and how they affect us. Just now I’m a little pressed for time, so I’m going to make a basic summary of what is Judaism and what is Christianism, so all us can have some clearer ideas on the subject. It is important to understand the basis (not the details, the basis) of judeochristian morals, because it’s one of the three great roots of Western civilization:
Saying it quick and dirty, there it goes:
Judaism, ethics in beta version:
“Don’t piss off your neighbour”.
2.0 Version , by Jesus of Nazareth:
“Besides not pissing off your neighbour, lend a hand!”
As long as I have enough time I will explain it step by step and detail by detail. Beware with this, this is the theory. What has been done in practice is totally different, OK? As Gandhi said: “I like your Christ. I do not like your Christians. Your Christians are so unlike your Christ”.
